Two HBG-designed projects named finalists in the Building Memphis Awards

HBG is excited to have two projects nominated as finalists in the Building Memphis Awards, a broad commercial real estate recognition program sponsored by the Memphis Business Journal seeking to honor projects that have created a positive community impact.

The HBG-designed UTHSC Translational Science Research Building is recognized as a finalist in the ‘Best Public/ Private Project: Large’ category.

The UTHSC Cancer Research and Translational Sciences Research Complex’s brick, glass, metal and precast facade typifies the look of a high-caliber higher education facility, while fitting contextually within the urban Memphis campus composed of new and historic buildings. To engage the campus, an integral component of the UT campus master plan, the new research complex extends the campus edge west while connecting to existing pathways. The building’s corner siting creates integration with the community, and re-defines the busy corner of Union Avenue and Manassas Road.

We are also pleased that our firm’s renovation of the historic Lansky Building as the new home of Hard Rock Memphis on Beale Street has been recognized in the ‘Best Conversion / Renovation: Large’ category.
