Intern Insights: Katie – “What’s so refreshing about HBG is how appreciative everyone is of the work we create.”

interns-katiecostaFor starters, I would like to thank everyone at HBG for such a wonderful summer. Everyone was so incredibly welcoming and really made Memphis feel like home! Coming from the University of Cincinnati, where our program alternates between semesters of school and work, I definitely had some experience in moving to new places. I did not, however, have any prior knowledge of the geography that lies below the Mason-Dixon line.

If the south is one big, hospitable family, Memphis is your cool older cousin. While turning twenty-one this summer probably (read: absolutely) contributed to my embracing of everything Memphis, I found myself falling more and more in love with this city’s fun attitude; an attitude you would expect from large cities but on a much smaller, more manageable scale. Intern Insights – Sarah Rose: “I am learning and loving the elements of marketing and design.”

interns-sarahrose

Hello! My name is Sarah Rose Watkins, and I have spent this past summer serving as the Marketing Intern for Hnedak Bobo Group. I currently am a senior at the University of Mississippi, where I am majoring in Marketing and minoring in Spanish.

Having lived in Memphis my whole life, and attended college only an hour and a half down the road, I had decided that I did not want to seek an internship so close to home. However, one of my friends reached out to me because she had seen an internship posting on social media and thought I would be a good fit with the company. Although I was slightly hesitant to apply for the internship solely because of its location in my own backyard; as I began researching the company, I was instantly impressed. After my interview and tour of the Hnedak Bobo Group office, I remember walking to my car, calling my best friend and saying, “I really want this job!” (more…)
