Memphis’s South Main district named to Money magazine’s
“35 Best Retirement Neighborhoods” (October 2007)
Money combed thirty of the U.S.'s largest cities for areas with low crime, rich culture, easy transportation and great health care to create their list of top 35 best neighborhoods to retire. The South Main historic district in downtown Memphis was named to this list!
The biggest ‘pros’ of the neighborhood cited by the magazine: being right on the river, easy to around on the trolley, and super affordable. The median price for a four-bedroom house is under $200,000; two-bedroom lofts and condos run from the low $200,000s to the mid $300,000s. For potential art buyers, there are over a dozen galleries in the area, which is bounded by the Mississippi River and the world-famous blues sounds of Beale Street.
Hnedak Bobo Group’s office is only blocks down from the South Main district!
Forbes named Memphis one of the top 40 “Best Cities for Singles”
