    The Yellow Brick Road Casino, in Chittenango, New York, offers a wonderfully well-suited entertainment experience for the birthplace of L. Frank Baum, the celebrated author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The new 430 machine gaming center uses theatrical color, texture and pattern in refined measure to impart an interpretative tribute to the imaginative “Wizard of Oz" world of Dorothy, Toto and the Wicked Witch of the West. The project was delivered as a design/build with Hayner Hoyt of Syracuse, for the Oneida Indian Nation.

  • Angel of the Winds Hotel & Casino

    Located one hour north of Seattle, the new 125-room, 5-story hotel at Angel of the Winds Casino features 6 suites, 54 king rooms and 71 double queen rooms; a new smoke shop and a gift shop. The new hotel design ties into the property's existing 'northern lodge' aesthetic with Native themes present such as culturally-based wood carvings on the exterior in red, black and white bands. The culturally-inspired lobby is comfortable and welcoming with rich, native decor. A hummingbird design at the reception displays a cultural symbol of hospitality to welcome patrons. Local cedar accents, a custom two-sided fireplace and wonderful textures and colors and unique light fixtures throughout the hotel provide warmth in an area of the country famous for rainy weather. A special covered connector into the hotel protects guests from the weather.

    Inspired by grand terminals and turn-of-the-20th century European architecture, designers created a vibrant new customer experience that captures the excitement and wonder of faraway voyages in the gilded age of travel. The expansion adds an improved exterior arrival experience with grand World’s Fair globe signage; a new themed casino expansion; a multi-purpose room that doubles as a nightclub; new cafe, steakhouse and bistro dining amenities; a modern expansion to the existing London-themed gaming area; elegant new VIP gaming rooms tiered according to VIP level; a high-tech immersive gaming area; the new 500-seat Gran Via buffet; a new 18-story, 500-room hotel tower and new 15-story, 297,000 square feet, 500-room hotel tower.

    Pokagon has expanded the popular Four Winds Casino brand into Dowagiac, Michigan. Set to capture the locals gaming market, the 305-slot, 27,000 SF casino continues the branded cultural design scheme created by HBG at the Four Winds Casino in Hartford, Michigan.   • Four Winds Hartford Casino

    The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians engaged HBG to design this first brand expansion of its Four Winds Casino. Serving as a satellite casino to its sister property 40 minutes away in New Buffalo, Michigan, the new Hartford casino integrates tribal cultural references and symbolism to achieve continuity of the Four Winds brand. The property was completed in budget and on schedule, 14 months from design start to construction end.

    HBG worked with Coushatta Casino Resort Operations, the Sovereign Nation of the Coushatta Tribe and DreamCatcher™ Hotels to design the new Seven Clans Hotel in Kinder, Louisiana. The 7-story, 401-room hotel property was the first developed by DreamCatcher Hotels. In addition to the 383 “standard” hotel rooms, Seven Clans offerings include 18 suites, nine with private outdoor patios, and top-level rooms that offer dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows.

  • Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino

    Located on the Seneca Nation's Buffalo Creek Territory in a former industrial area of Buffalo's re-emerging Inner Harbor, the new casino is highly visible from the adjacent highway and two blocks from the Buffalo Sabres hockey arena. To allow this locals casino to thrive in its urban location, HBG approached the planning and design as a placemaking activity. The casino was uniquely sited and designed to draw patrons from the interstate and the hockey arena, and positioned as an active contributor to the community’s growth.
