At HBG Design, the synergy of our firm’s collective passions for design and business has driven our industry success. Since our founding in 1979 in Memphis, Tennessee, we have witnessed extraordinary growth as our organization has elevated in prominence from a regional architecture studio to a nationally-recognized, award-winning hospitality and entertainment design firm.
Born in the birthplace of branded hospitality.
Memphis is what some call “the Silicon Valley” of branded hospitality. The birthplace of the first branded hotel chain, Holiday Inn Corporation, Memphis has also given rise to brands such as Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites. That’s how HBG Design got its start in the business. From our first hospitality project – a pool enclosure for a Holiday Inn property; to the development of a design concept for Holiday Inn’s national vertical hotel prototype in the ‘80s; to the design lead for the development of an extended-stay hotel brand – Homewood Suites – HBG Design has been a steady partner to hospitality corporations. When our hospitality clients transitioned into the gaming industry, HBG Design adapted our market focus and grew our specialty to include Indian and Commercial gaming, merging the two focus areas in the design of award-winning casino hotels and casino resorts nationwide.
Good design is good business.
HBG Design offers an integrated team of 120 diverse, yet complementary professionals in architecture and interior design. Our work has taken us across the country and around the world, and while we believe good design is good business, we also believe running a good business is an essential ingredient in our ability to deliver high quality, innovative designs to our national and international clients. We are highly focused on delivering inspired design, encouraging innovative operational practices, and maximizing employee engagement across the firm.
