On a recent Friday afternoon, Hnedak Bobo Group team members were huddled in the company’s basement at 104 S. Front St.

The firm’s employees were busily sorting a wide range of architectural and building materials, everything from tiles and laminate to wall covering and carpet.

Hnedak Bobo Plans a Sustainable Blueprint for a Green Footprint

Memphis architecture firm, Hnedak Bobo Group (HBG) just completed interior design work on an office building on International Place in East Memphis, which is a LEED-registered project. HBG designed the 9-story, 225,000 square feet building’s interior to be as green as possible, focusing on several green design aspects, including maximizing the use of natural light and selecting products that are manufactured from sustainable resources and that contribute to healthy indoor environments.

Projects by Three U of Arkansas Architecture Students Win 7th Annual HBG Design Competition

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Three University of Arkansas students in the Fay Jones School of Architecture created the three winning designs chosen from among 16 entries in the seventh annual Hnedak Bobo International Design Competition. The competition recognizes work done from international locales during the Fay Jones School’s study abroad programs.

In Casino Design’s annual Q&A with expert architects, designers, builders and developers, this year the subject is the reuse of older buildings, and what constitutes a successful renovation. We started with this premise:
    
“It’s quite clear that any particular casino design has a shelf life appropriate to the time and place when and where it was built. How do you keep your offerings fresh and your property intriguing to customers?”
    
These questions were put to the experts once again this year by Julie Brinkerhoff-Jacobs, the president of Lifescapes International.

Welcome to the labyrinth. Tribal gaming presents numerous post-recession options, along roads that must be traveled carefully. While some contain potholes, others offer paths to prosperity.
    
Tribes are taking it all in. Many properties catch their breath and weigh, for the first time in several years, some interesting choices. One, should they realize modest profits in order to improve infrastructure and education facilities for members? Or two, is it better to risk those dollars via expansion to seek a larger profit in coming years?
